An Archaeologist Tim and his student- soon to become girl friend -Cathy, and his engineer brother, Charlie make an amazing discovery while on holiday in the Outback near Cathy's family home that sets them on a journey to Egypt and a search for the mysterious Hall of Records.

Inadvertently, Tim's brother, leaves a printout of the results of a polymer test behind, which ultimately makes them hunted enemies of all three Western Religions of Israel, Islam and Christianity. Their find not only disproves Darwin's theory , but declares that a feline alien race had visited, and were the guardians of the race that bioengineered the human race, leaving behind a base full of artifacts, advanced technology, and a crypt of alien bodies! The story is thrilling in its telling of their discovery and their subsequent attempt to keep the story silent while they seek out further evidence to corroborate their findings.

But unknowingly tip off a disgruntled Catholic colleague, who uses unethical brother to steal their evidence, and notify the head of the Church, the Pope himself. How are Tim, Cathy, and Charley going to release this information without endangering the lives of everyone concerned? An interesting and exciting tale, I am looking forward to reading it's sequel. There's a lot to like about Martin I Henry's book The Anunnaki, but his writing has some serious flaws, especially when it comes to character portral. The lead character, Tim, discovers a cave full of alien equipment with a map that leads to the Hall Of Records.

Great idea, and when it comes to the action in this novel, Henry's writing is wonderful. His information is fascinating and he's really done his homework on the subject of the Anunnaki. What slowed the writing down were the pages of details on subjects that were too complicated for the reader especially me. I don't need to know why a polymer is alien in detail, just say that it has stable isotopes that aren't available on Earth which is as much as I understood instead of giving a technical 3 page detailed description that had me skipping pages.

Another thing is that the female PHD student of Tim's he's a professor falls in love with Tim and from that point on she turns into a love-starved idiot. She hides behind Tim during a gun fight, when today's woman would be pushing him out of the way to get a better shot think Angelia Jolie in Mr. I couldn't relate to her and hated her by the end of the novel. Henry should either give her backbone, or kill her off because I want to read Book 2, and I never want to see this weak, love-starved woman again. Next on my list is the near perfection of the main character, Tim.

Good grief, the guy makes James Bond look like a slacker. Tim is brilliant, can speak any language fluently, knows every gun and gives us all the details , laughs in the face of danger, romances the women, and can leap tall buildings in a single bound not really, but you get the gist. We love characters for their flaws, which means Tim is not very lovable because he's just so darn perfect. Where's the 'wounded hero'? So, while it might seem that I found lots of flaws in the book, I still LOVE the action scenes and the great information in this book, which means I'll read Book 2.

Henry seems like a new writer, and if he takes the advice of his reviewers and not his relatives who've probably said his book is perfect he's going to be a great writer. One person found this helpful. I agree with the other negative reviews. The author must not think much of his readers.

Yes, the story is drawn out and boring.

The Anunnaki The Chronicles of the Guardians

The actions of the characters are not that of supposedly intelligent people. The main characters are poorly drawn. The plot is tediously predictable. Even a child knows not to leave world-shaking information laying about; stupid assumptions abound.

I did not get through it all. I gave up midway when the "secret" was blabed to many, many people and, therefore, easily compromised. If you like challenging reads filled with smart, action drama or an "Indiana Jones" type adventure, then, this book is not for you.

Disappointed with it isn't even close. See all reviews. Most recent customer reviews.

Lists with This Book. This book is not yet featured on Listopia. Jan 08, Shawn rated it it was ok. I downloaded this book to read on my Kindle because, while fiction, the topic of the novel is one in which I have great interest. And, while glad I read it, I have to say it was a bit of a chore. The author, Martin I. Henry is obviously Australian, which, itself is not an issue. The trouble came when I would have to stop to put certain slang words in context to figure out what was being described. The prose seemed a little redundant I loved reading the description of the base the protagonists I downloaded this book to read on my Kindle because, while fiction, the topic of the novel is one in which I have great interest.

I loved reading the description of the base the protagonists found, but after the third description of the same item or event, it got a little old. Finally, the ending seemed to be a bit too easy, almost as if Henry just got tired of writing the story and just wanted to quit to move onto something else. I found it lazy.

Overall, I would read at least on more book from this author just to see if it was this particular novel or the author himself. And, to anyone who finds ancient astronaut theories intriguing, this book is worth a read Mar 07, Laura Eccleston rated it really liked it. I was bought this book as a Christmas present as I love science fiction and travel novels so I agreed it was a good mix for me to try.

The Anunnaki The Chronicles of the Guardians by Henry, Martin I

I was hesitant at first because anything to do with aliens I usually run a mile as they can be so stereotypical, but I was pleasantly surprised. The story was exciting, I found myself wanting to read the next chapter to see what they would discover next. My only gripe really was the female character, she came across as way too loved up and pathetic.

It would have I was bought this book as a Christmas present as I love science fiction and travel novels so I agreed it was a good mix for me to try. It would have been nice if she'd played a stronger character that had a point other than it being her parents ranch, but hey ho. I enjoyed the other characters, I actually felt myself hating some and loving others so I think they were written well.

All in all I really enjoyed this book and the ending was extremely frustrating because I was itching to read the next in the series! Keep up the great work.
