She is the one the FBI like to work with because of her ability to notice the smallest details quickly. Kendra cannot handle working on cases like the FBI does, because she hates seeing victims' families suffer. Death is never easy to handle. But now, a dead woman is found with a USB drive containing damaging evidence for her. Only she never knew the victim. It is only a matter of time before the FBI bring her in on the case. Kendra feels obligated to help since the dead woman tried to reach out to her.
Other than that she wants noting to do with the case.
- Life in 18th Century Nevada.
- USS Missouri at War!
- Sams Teach Yourself Facebook in 10 Minutes (Sams Teach Yourself -- Minutes).
- The Seduction of Gloria.
But that's where it starts to get complicated. Her former FBI friend that she is attracted to, handles deadly crime stuff. She feels something more for him but she isn't allowing herself to fall in love. Adam Lynch wants Kendra Michaels as his woman. However, he knows it will be difficult to get to agree.
She likes him just as much as he likes her but she won't open up. Instead, she pushes away from him. The new case is provides a tug of war in their relationship. Overall, this new novel was suspenseful. I was deeply engaged from the start. She is a detective for the FBI in a way. The personality was easy to latch onto as well as like. Kendra is a strong independent woman who won't let anyone or anything bring her down Adam Lynch is a cocky good looking man who is smart and deadly to mess with. But when it comes to Kendra he makes mistakes and doesn't know how to approach her.
It was intriguing and sad to follow. Double Blind was fast-paced. It kept me guessing the whole way. I highly recommend it to all. I received this copy from the publisher. This is my voluntary review. Sep 04, Charlotte Lynn rated it it was amazing. Oh my… another winner from Iris Johansen and Roy Johansen. I started the Kendra Michaels series about 2 books back and have not been able to pass up reading them. They are books that I know will entertain, keep my attention, and make me think while reading them.
With Double Blind we find Kendra pulled into another FBI investigation where someone is targeting guests at a wedding. A video of the wedding is given to Kendra and that is her only clue to start the investigation. While it was never really shared how Kendra had anything to do with the wedding, I came to the conclusion that her reputation was the reason that she was given the video with the assumption that her amazing skills to solve crimes would be put to use.
Of course, this is exactly what Kendra does. The crime part was interesting and I can easily see how it will feed into future books in this series but what I really enjoyed was the relationship between Kendra and Lynch. They circled each other, pushed each other, and never really confessed their feelings. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
Kendra is exciting to watch because she uses all her senses to deduce what is going on in the world and in FBI cases she is often asked to work. There's action, mystery, intelligent casework and a nice group of family and friends.
Double Blind (Kendra Michaels, #6) by Iris Johansen
Adam Lynch is often involved with Kendra's cases and adds sexual tension and humor. There has been a will they or won't they with Adam in all the previous books. The longer this has continued, the more I have tired of it. Kendra's reasons are unreasonable.

A person feels what they feel and telling yourself you don't or won't feel is stupid. Now choosing your actions, no matter what you feel is quite normal. But lying to yourself and others about how you feel seems immature. In Double Blind , a woman was murdered bringing information to Kendra. So Kendra must involve herself with solving the murder, which turns out to be murders. I didn't think she really HAD to get involved as she has her music therapy practice, but this is the story.
I didn't feel Kendra used her skills as much in this story. It mainly surfaced as more of a parlor trick when she met someone new as a verification of her credentials. The procedures they followed to solve the case didn't seem very smart or organized this time. Kendra also wasn't as smart about her safety or that of her friends and family. The ending left with Kendra going with Adam to assist with his situations. I'm thrilled to see her finally taking that step and hope the relationship will be more authentic in the future. I greatly look forward to the next book, although this is my least favorite in the series.
Sep 12, Monica Mac rated it really liked it. I have always enjoyed the Kendra Michaels series from Iris Johansen, and this book is no exception. After all, Kendra is a genius when it comes to noticing things that others do not. I find that fascinating. A young woman dies whilst on her way to deliver a copy of a wedding video to Kendra.
It is up to Kendra to figure out why that is, with the help of Adam Lynch lots of chemistry there! This is a very twisted tale and as the different threads of the story come together, I I have always enjoyed the Kendra Michaels series from Iris Johansen, and this book is no exception. This is a very twisted tale and as the different threads of the story come together, I kind of let my breath go.
I didn't realise I was holding it as many times as I was. I am looking forward to reading the next book by Iris Johansen, her thrillers are fantastic. Jul 26, Joan rated it really liked it. Kendra Michaels reluctantly agrees to assist the FBI with an unusual case and learns that the victim was carrying an envelope addressed to her. Inside, she finds a flash drive with a recording of a wedding reception. But she knows none of the people; she sees nothing that she recognizes. Strong characters and a twisting plot with unpredictable reveals build suspense and keeps readers on the edge of their seats.
The unfolding narrative often takes an unexpected turn, keeping tension high and building suspense. While the story concludes in a satisfactory manner, the ending clearly leads to the next book in this series. Jul 14, Toni rated it it was amazing. Love Kendra Micheals stories. When a woman dies with a flash drive on her way to find Kendra, things get personal. Of course Lynch will do anything to protect Kendra, but she feels better dealing with things on her own.
That is until her best friend Olivia is taken. Then all bets are off. Which leads to Kendra, Lynch, and Jessie heading to Afghanistan, but that's also where the story ends. Can't wait for next one. Thanks to netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read an uncorrected proof.
May 18, Christine Cheripka rated it really liked it. This was the kind of mystery worth getting up early to read so you could get to the "who dunnit" parts Double Blind had the tough and talented Kendra, Lynch and Jessie who had the skills and guts to head into any situation and not back down I won this book on Goodreads, worth the read.
Jul 14, Tracie Runge rated it really liked it Shelves: Double Blind is a fast paced, engaging read. Kendra is resourceful, independent and strong not letting anything get in her way. With a well-developed surrounding cast this was and thrilling read. I loved this story, the dynamics was well written and I will reading many more books by this author.
Aug 08, Catherine rated it really liked it. I'm so glad Kendra and Adam finally got together. They have been dancing around each other since they met in the first book, Close Your Eyes. There was a lot of sexual tension between them. I just feel sorry for Kendra's best friend, Olivia. It seems that every time someone has a grudge, against Kendra, they kidnap Olivia.
She goes through a lot, but she always survives.

She is so strong I never would have thought the killer was who he was. It was another good addition to a good serious, I just wi I'm so glad Kendra and Adam finally got together. It was another good addition to a good serious, I just wish Kendra would just let herself go and feel. Adam is a good man and would not let anything happen, to her. Jul 29, Felicia Glover rated it liked it. Another tale involving formerly blind Kendra Michaels and her keen abilities of observation to solve the latest mystery with the help of her supporting cast including Oliva, her childhood friend who happens to be blind and Adam Lynch, a man with a "special set of skills" and the fiery Jessie Mercado, private investigator.
This was another enjoyable read and thank you GoodReads for the advance reader copy. Apr 25, Dee rated it liked it. One thing that drove me nuts in this book were all of the underline words and sentences! I also wonder why Kendra is so aggressive. Eve Duncan is like this also. Aug 14, Kirsten rated it really liked it Shelves: Another great entry in the Kendra Michaels series. I thought this one had one of the more engaging mystery stories. Many of the others seemed to follow a theme of the profiler against the evil serial killer. This was similar but had enough of a mystery to make it enjoyable.
Sometimes I just want to slap Kendra around. I mean, is it possible to write a strong female character who isn't a stubborn pain in the ass? Contact Get Help About Blog.
