Brand new paperback book! A rush of memories overcame him in an instant: He thought of her care and concern through his pain and illness. He thought of her faith and strength, her wisdom and insight. This was the moment in the life of a human being when ev Previous owner name inside front cover.
Cover has some light edge and corner wear. Now responsible for a century-old family business and a boys home, Jess knows he is expected to uphold a great patriarchal legacy. Gillian's character is so full of life. She can be hard-headed one second, then blown away with her feelings the next. She has to choose between two very good choices and she doesn't come to a decision easily.
There is laughter, heartache, and tears to be experienced with her story. You don't have to read the first three books to start this one, but I would recommend it. That way you won't miss out on some of the subtle references to events that o This book is my personal favorite of the series. See a Problem?
This book is clean, witty, and a fairly easy read. I would recommend it to readers of all ages. Jun 07, Evelyn Sheehan rated it it was amazing. I had expected the next volume to include their journey to the Salt Lake Valley, but was pleasantly surprised to have it pick up after they have been in Salt Lake for several years. I loved that it focused on Gillian and Jamie, and their struggles to find their place in the world. It was a touching and thoughtful story, and although I am sad to have the series end, I loved the way it was all wrapped up!
I am going to miss these characters! Jun 01, Lydia rated it really liked it. Enjoyed this one 4 in the series. While centered around Gillian's decision of which of 2 men to marry good friend, gospel, etc May 28, Orlando rated it it was amazing.
Lily of the Manor
I really enjoyed reading this book I was not as attached to the book as I have been in the past, I could put the book down but I still couldn't wait to be able to pick it back up But still hate for the book to end Anita has such a way of making the characters in her books feel "real" that you just want to be able to reach in and "hug or call them" They just "feel" like my family, so like I said it's hard when the book ends A shadow of the old Anita is emerging!
I actually wanted to keep reading this book. The struggle Gillian had between choosing the obvious good choice for a husband or choosing the man that seemed to go against her beliefs but she had raging chemistry with I hope Stansfield continues along this vein with more common situations and hard choices. I thought this was the best of the four books of course I didn't really care for the first two and the third just surpassed ok for me. It was more compelling and eventful that the rest in the series. Although I am not a fan of Anita Stansfield, I had to read the next book in the series.
I started out by actually liking this book, but as with all of her books it had a little too much drama for me by midway through the book. I hope this ends the series because she wrapped it up at the end. Jun 11, Kc7nan rated it liked it.
Shadows of Brierley Series
It was a nice easy read. I agree with some other reviewers that some of Anita Stansfields newer books are just variations on previous books and all using the same formula.
I'm just not as excited with her writing as I was a few years back. I could not put this book down. It was one of my favorites in this series. It's been awhile since a book has actually made me cry.
