I hope we see more of Helen and her friends back for more fun and laughter. I will read more books by Jana Deleon. I bought it on Amazon. Helena is back from the Great Beyond and Maryse's cousin Jadyn joins the other wonderful ladies. I think she is a good addition to the series, but I wish we had seen a bit more depth of character for her in this book.

The mystery, again, is secondary to the characters and their madcap adventures with the crazy ghost of Helena. One person found this helpful. As with the other three books in the series, I enjoyed this book immensely and laughed my self silly at my favorite resident ghost's antics. There are likable new characters and most of the characters from previous book are present.

Unlike it predessors, this book focused primarily on the mystery. There wasn't any romance and there wasn't a sex scene. Based on previous reviews, I'm sure that some readers will rejoice at the absence of the latter. Personally, I never had a problem with two people finding romance in the face of danger. It seemed logical to me. When one is faced with the uncertainity of whether they will live to see tomorrow what's wrong with seizing romance while you can.

It will hopefully prevent future plots from becoming trite. Moreover, although I love Helena's hailarious antics I would hate for this portion of the series to become a joke that is no longer funny and entertaining. However, as far as this book is concerned that was definitely not the case. I can't wait to read what stunts for Helena the author will come up with next. Fall can't come fast enough! Although I still think that the books are overprice by a dollar, if not two, I still plan to continue reading the series. Buy it, read it; Enjoy! The addition of Jadyn St. James as game warden, ushers in a new cycle in the Ghost-in-Law series.

Because Jadyn has jurisdiction over anything in the game preserve, and because she is a beautiful woman in the hidden world of the bayou, there is a lot of great conflict and contrast in this book. The murder is especially grizzly, with small, but interesting, forensic details. Add the ghost of Helena Henry, and her inability to control her panic, and you end up with the perfect balance of humor and thriller.

I can truly say that Helena is unique among the ghosts that I've read, both in her personality and skills. It definitely adds a layer to the mystery as Jadyn has to manage the murder as well as Helena's constant wardrobe and ectoplasmic malfunctions, all while trying to stay alive.

As to the identity of the murderer, I was caught completely by surprise.

She spent many a day in the rope hammock she remembers hunging in the shade of a large deck stretched out over the water.

It was within such serene surroundings that Jana DeLeon spent many an hour immersed in her books. Jana was a CFO before making the difficult decision to tackle writing as a career. Maryse Robicheaux, a scientist, was certain that all her problems would disappear once her mother-in-law died. She was also pushy and manipulative.

More people want the sexy scientist dead that Luc knows what to do with. He will have to protect Maryse even while keeping his precious secrets from her; that is if he can resist his attraction for the brainy beauty. Trouble in Mudbug is a very fun read, far more interesting than one might presume from the synopses. Any reader expecting to encounter a truly serious mystery novel will be sorely disappointed. However, for those individuals simply looking for a great and entertaining read, this silly novel will not disappoint them.

Her life would be much happier if she could find Hank and serve him the divorce papers. The mystery is surprisingly intriguing and should prove entertaining even to fans of the mystery genre. The twist and turns, while hardly earth-shattering, manage to surprise on more than one occasion. For the most part, Trouble in Mudbug will keep readers guessing.

It is the sort of light-hearted story that catches most readers by surprise. The first book in the Ghost-in-Law series, the cast is particularly enthralling, especially Helena, a less than pleasant individual whose character arc allows her to emerge as one of the funniest and surprisingly likable characters in the novel. At no point in the story are they so exaggerated as to become caricatures or stereotypes.

Sabine LeVeche was orphaned at an early age. Lucky for her, she has a sexy PI and a sassy ghost to depend on. ON the unfortunate side, a murderer is determined to put her down, possibly even before her illness can take her.

Mischief in Mudbug is another fun and amusing novel from Jana DeLeon. Part cozy mystery, part contemporary romance, Mischief in Mudbug is led by Sabine, a heroine introduced during the Trouble in Mudbug story. Readers are encouraged to read Trouble in Mudbug, the first book in the Ghost-in-Law series, before proceeding with the sequel.
