Heaven Knows

I read this book and I was totally engulfed in it I couldn't put it down. Some people think that teens are tea total virgins but in reality its very different and I can vouch for that as I drank before I was 16, went to nightclubs before I was 16, stayed out late, went to gigs, met boys etc so this story was almost like reliving my past except I didn't meet the multi-millionaire lad. I must admit that a few times when reading it I felt like this was a true story and not just fiction - that's I read this book and I was totally engulfed in it I must admit that a few times when reading it I felt like this was a true story and not just fiction - that's how enjoyable the story was.

After reading this book I then had to go straight out and get the other 2 books in this trilogy and again couldn't put them down. All three books were read within a week and I cannot stress how upset I was when I had finished them as I wished the story could have been continued. I found the stories really well written and would, and have done, recommend them to friends and family.

I have also read other books by Clair and found them very good also. Please take time to read her books and for those of you who don't believe this story could be real, trust me, it can be. Sep 10, sue rated it it was amazing. I have just finished reading this book. I started it last night and finished it this morning, which is quick for me. I loved how the author played out the storyline so well, bringing out all kinds of emotions in me. Yes I cried at one point.

This story was so well thought out, and complex, deep emotive feelings. I need to look out for more as I believe this is I have just finished reading this book. I need to look out for more as I believe this is a series. I received this as a gift for an honest and open review. I can honestly say, I will never forget this book or the people in it.

Aug 12, Philomena Callan Cheekypee rated it it was amazing. This was such an intense book. This storyline was like nothing I've read before. It totally gripped me. I didn't realise until I had finished this book that its the first part of a trilogy. I'm now even more excited to read more of this fantastic story. Received in return for an honest review. Dec 30, Kez rated it it was amazing. Love this book, easy to read.

Love the characters, you end up falling in love with them and cried my eyes out at parts. Aug 20, Sara rated it it was ok Shelves: I was given a copy of this book to read in exchange of an honest review 1. I read others, including some words written by the author herself, and I was worried not to put down in words what I really thought. Angela is an English and almost 16 year-old girl. Her life is simple: A I was given a copy of this book to read in exchange of an honest review 1.

At least since the moment she meets Simon, 17 year-old, who completely turns upside down her life. From the moment he finds out she loves Joy Division, he falls in love with her. Like three minutes later. Really, I mean it. They instantly become a couple and everything goes really fast. Simon gives Angel a gift the day after they first met: With Simon, Angel discovers a new world made of great music, freedom and good friends: Lora, Spyder and Miles, who will be very important in her life. Just before school ends, Simon takes her to Scotland with an excuse and asks her hand.

The morning after they are officially married. Since that moment they start their life together and they can do whatever they want because he is wealthy. But this is far away a fairy tale. Some dark menace threatens their happiness and a tragedy will change everything. Sometimes I was surprised with their courage, sometimes I was sad for them, other times I was annoyed. Simon is an arrogant selfish rich boy, he wants something and he wants it immediately, which happens with Angel. But behind this strong personality there is a fragile and lost boy. I think she was just too childish, unprepared for what was coming.

If a kid changes from day to day, you get concerned, not the opposite. What about the book itself? One thing that surprised me was how the author developed the story. It begins with the end of the book, when we read that Angel and Miles slept together. Knowing that she was meant to be with Simon, you have the need to read the story to know how things ends in that way. And this is absolutely a great idea. Last thing, I hope not to be the only one, but why there have to be all those exclamation marks? In conclusion, I think that this book was too much dramatic, the author did choices that made the book even more heavy that it should have been.

Aug 27, April rated it really liked it Shelves: I loved the intensity of the book and the emotion within the characters. Although most of us will probably never meet and fall in love with a millionaire-especially at 16, I can remember the intensity of emotion and the idea that everything would work out no matter what. I think Angela personifies that young attitude very well. Simon, on the other hand, had already dealt with more than he could handle in his few years.

He was already left on his own for the most part and he had no idea how to ha I loved the intensity of the book and the emotion within the characters. He was already left on his own for the most part and he had no idea how to handle the stress and the seriousness of the situation in which he found himself. However, Angel made things better for him and he at least tried to do the right things. I can't imagine being under the age of 18 and finding out that I would literally lose myself well before I ever thought I would. I didn't always agree with his choices, but I did understand them and I loved the fact that there was at least one person who tried to understand and love him regardless of it all.

Throughout, I felt for both Angel and Simon and although I wasn't surprised with the ending, I did think it was a fitting one. The only thing I did have difficulty with was dealing with some of the phrasing and wording.

I did keep in mind though that this was set in another country so it didn't hold me back much at all. I read other reviews of the book once I finished reading it and I was a bit surprised by some of them. Those who think that teens don't drink and have sex on a regular basis are dead wrong. No, not all teens do this, but there are a lot who do.

If we look around at the teens in the tabloids, you can easily see that money and celebrity often lead to having more access to drugs and alcohol. Additionally, I think we have to remember that this book was written outside of a U. Personally, I didn't find that much unrealistic about the book other than maybe the millionaire boy part, but I do understand that we will all have differing opinions. Overall, I truly enjoyed the book and the writing style. I had no difficulty connecting with any of the characters-except maybe Cassie and Jamie-who made me slightly crazy, but I think that was the idea.

Angel says Simon is just eccentric?! Not to mention he is handsome , filthy rich It actually creep me out! Whichever he was, I was completely enthralled by him. His posh accent turned my knees to jelly and his blue eyes were piercing like they could see right through to my very soul.

Like why are are they such in a hurry? They are so young! But then when I learned about Simon's condition.. There's never be enough time It must be hard on Angela to be thrown to a situation she was clearly unprepared. I admire her for being all supportive and understanding for Simon.

I guess, she wants to proved that love is more than enough? The whole book depicts the ups and downs of Simon and Angel's relationship. But I admire how strong their bond and commitment to each other.. And it's too good to be true. Aug 11, Jessica Zelkovich rated it liked it. I was given this book looking for an honest review. As I read through this book I too felt like I should bury "my head in his chest I thought how very wrong this whole situation was. I really truly did. I said, okay crazy girl needing to fill in an emotional void and here comes her space filler. Ditching school and kissing random boy have to excuse because I did this one.

Okay parents, God makes them in all varieties, I can buy it. But total forgiveness for major plot twist Clearly we know the ending because this is all a flashback which makes Simon's death not a if but a when and how for the reader to ask. I personally felt the story should have gone chronologically so the reader doesn't suspect the death, and I felt it should have ended with Miles accompanying her to the funeral but not so much the start of her moving on. Let that be implied.

Not sure where the title came in to play. Usually I catch it somewhere in the book. I had high hopes once I got passed the rocky start and into the relationship but I had to give too much for me to believe this was a realistic relationship. Three stars for the butterflies I got periodically and Cassie finally getting the boot.

Their relationship moves fast and strong. They are each other's soul mate. They have the most beautiful connection and it totally melted my heart! Simon comes from a very rich family and will I was given a copy of this book to read in exchange of an honest review Simon comes from a very rich family and will inherit it all when his father passes on. He wants to share all of this with her. He calls her Angel and he will literally do anything for her.

He has a family secret that will change a lot for their relationship and they go through more struggles than any two teenagers should. Will she be able to handle it? This book made me cry and I have only ever cried twice while reading a book! This is a very romantic, heart melting, tear jerker! I felt like I had a connection with the characters. Anyway, Simon and Angel decide to start a record label and convert part of the mansion into a recording studio. They have a strong love for music and that's one of the things that drove them together. They have friends also in a band and want to help them out.

This is where you will hear more about Miles and Cassandra. Lets just say there is a lot of drama when they start this venture together and Cassandra is the maker of most of it. She is the girlfriend of Miles and is horrible! In the beginning of the book Miles and Angel are in the bed together, but they really aren't together until the end of the book.

And, don't worry it all works out in the end! Don't get me wrong there is a lot of sadness and struggle but the love in this book makes it all worth it! I loved this book! I totally recommend it! There were a couple of editing problems with words but the book was so good I didn't care!

This book is a new favorite of mine!! Aug 11, Holly rated it it was ok. I received this book for free in return for an honest review. My main issues with this book was that so many things happened that were just completely implausible.

I didn't realize until later that this was the first in a trilogy. This book has a clear ending, no cliffhangers, which is nice. It's not a bad book, the author clearly knows how to write and I find first person hard to write and keep compelling so good for her! The main issue for me was just the overall implausibility of the novel. Aug 30, Za-za rated it did not like it. The book jumped right into the main idea without a lot of jumble before-hand, and of that I was very grateful. I can't say I like the h, Angel, she seemed to platonic and was ok with all of the things that Simon did. This brings me to another topic- Simon, the 17 year old millionaire. Heaven Knows This Time by Clair Louise Coult

At first, I was unsure of how I felt about him, when I started to warm up to him he did something that made me completely despise him. At 16 and 17 they both seem to know that they are the loves of each other's lives! I'm sorry, but that didn't sit well with me. Simon had a life threatening disease, and didn't tell Angel until AFTER they were married, and then he goes and takes drugs and sleeps with Miles' girlfriend, Cassandra.

Angel blames it on his disease and they move on like everything is ok. Personally, that would have driven me over the edge even with Simon's illness. I think it is great that the author brought up awareness to those topics drugs, cheating, suicide, and death but I feel it was in the wrong way. None of that is ok. Angel was a character that I just didn't like, and I personally didn't like the book either. I would not recommend this book, but maybe you would feel differently.

Aug 11, Tayo Emmanuel rated it liked it. The book is well written with good structure and smooth flow of language. I like the fast pace of the book from the beginning all through. However, the ages of the main characters and plots of the book did not do justice to the good story line.

Most of the story was not plausible. Angela had been projected to be from a relatively conservative British family, hence the part where her parents simply accepted her pre-mature marriage didn't tie up. The image I had of Simon from the beginning was that The book is well written with good structure and smooth flow of language. The image I had of Simon from the beginning was that of someone on the prowl the way he planned to have sex with Angela, so I find it difficult to reconcile that he had never had sex before, neither was any allusion made to his previous relationships.

I missed where Angela was punished for missing her appointment with the Head Teacher. How she managed to pass her exams while spending so much time gallivanting with Simon remains a mystery.

Yes, Simon was wealthy, but at 17 years old, it would have been plausible for him to have an authority figure in his life if his father was that ill, maybe a relative or a trustee. This concluded the series, and this book was every bit as good as the first. Angel may be seen in some countries to be young when she marries Simon. In the UK this can be normal and legally done.
